“Operation Take Back.” 

"On Saturday, September 29^th 2012 the Wayne Police Department in conjunction with the D.E.A. will be holding “Operation Take Back.”  This semi-annual event will take place in the lobby of Wayne Police headquarters between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  On hand to collect all unused prescriptions and to answer any questions will be Detective Sergeant Jay Celentano of the Special Operations Unit and Detective Sergeant Charles Ahearn of the Youth Bureau. We strongly urge parents in our community to take advantage of this program to discard any unused or expired prescriptions.  The Wayne Police Department has identified the illegal use of prescription drugs as a rising trend among the younger people in our community.  This program is a voluntary prescription pill collection that will allow parents an opportunity to protect their families. We will not be collecting over the counter medications, needles, or any medication in liquid form."
